Having emotional issue…?

I have a newborn at home and I seem to be having a hard time every few days. I feel really guilty for even feeling this way

… I feel like this baby owns me. All I do is cater to my little one. Dont get me wrong, I love my baby more than life itself, but I just feel like being a mother now completely defines me as a person and its exhausting me.

It doesnt help that my husband doesnt get home until late (often times he finds that the golf course defines him!). He is a great dad when hes at home with us but I feel like I deserve a break every once in awhile. Some time to run eraands without the baby, go to the gym etc..

I dont know what my exact ??? is but just venting I guess. Would like to know that I am not alone.
I am sure many will say this is part of PPD. I have an appt with my dr and will discuss with her.

Anyone have PPD and able to medicate and still nurse your baby??

Awww…I’m sorry your feeling this way. Do you have anyone to help you? Your mom, a friend? Let them take your little one for an hour or so so you can get some YOU time. I really don’t know what I would do without my mom. Thankfully, she takes my little one off my hands for a couple hours a couple times a week. If I didn’t have her to do that for me, I would be a complete nutso. My husband helps as much as he can, but he works from 4am to 2pm 5 days a week and is exhausted when he comes home. He also is in a golf league once a week, so he has his time to himself. I’m ok with that because when I want to go out with the girls, he’ll be home to watch baby. It’s a trade off. Anyways, remember to get out more too. Go shopping or take a walk with baby in tow if you don’t have a sitter. It’s 10 times better than sitting inside all day. It gets depressing being cooped up in the house all day long. Are you going back to work? Even if it’s just part time, it will help you to get some of your own identity back. I’ll be actually going back to work full time in a few weeks here. It makes me sad sometimes, but I’m actually looking forward to getting back to my old go getter self. And if all else fails, talk to your doc. It could be ppd or it could be the baby blues. Either way, I’m sure you’ll eventually feel better soon.
Oh and by the way…I would try to tell your hubby to limit his golf time to once a week. It’s not fair to you if he’s going out golfing a few times a week. That’s the agreement I had with my hubby before we had our baby. You need some time to unwind as well! Good luck!
